Empathy of the Moment
I dreamed of God's tears dropping in my face after I intensely sang a song of grieving. I'm not sure though what I'm grieving for. I was finishing a set of Suno song compositions as a learning project for a Youtube playlist, and just the same, I'm still grieving for my beloved.
It's what is lacking in an AI, the empathy of the moment. It only synthesize the empathic words of human beings, but cannot show real sympathy to whom it is talking with. Or more precisely
Artificial Intelligence cannot replace the emotion that a human being transmits through their voice to those who listen. That is why this revolutionary new technology should be used—to quote UNESCO—as a tool. Nothing more.
Seen in this light, AI can be of great help to radio: to better understand audience tastes; to organize sound archives more effectively; to search for information much faster; to build a more defined and recognizable sonic identity. The potential developments are enormous, and some are still unpredictable.
But no technological advance—however sophisticated—will ever be able to replace the human dimension, the connection between people, which lies at the heart of Marconi’s invention.
AI can perfectly clone the timbre of a voice. It can therefore “replace” the vocal cords. But not the ones of the heart. Because, as Marshall McLuhan used to say, “Radio has the magical power to touch remote and forgotten cords.” -Radio and the challenge of artificial intelligence
Loosing my nonCatholic girlfriend has been translated into God's tears I think. As if God is saying, "War will continue. I have taught the world the right religion, but it set it aside. Only the language of love coming from the living of that religion can the world have that peaceful relationship. Expect war to bud forth every now and then. Religion created by men is different from the religion I established for them a long time ago."
That's what is frightening about AI. Developers can manipulate it to drop the reality that truth is relational. Although I haven't felt AI to be that way yet, only the methodological naturalism that can digress into empiricism. However, God as the Full Truth is relational, a Trinitarian God revealed creating man in his image, that is, being relational also. Empathy is our way of connecting with our fellow human beings and the rest of the world.
The funny thing is that I was awakened by a cat's caterwauling and that stinking smell of cat spray, damn.🤣 So even sensitive beings can affect our dreams to be more relationally longing. And we shouldn't expect an AI to do that for us since its not a sensitive being. To be exact, it cannot give the empathy of the moment we are looking for from a fellow human being. Again don't take my dream as something other than just a dream, although I believe God can communicate with us through our ordinary everyday experiences. It may just be a dream, and my yearning to find peace with God. I'm not a saint.✌
