I'm sorry but I am not fully familiar with Husserlian phenomenology that's why we need to hear from an expert what it is. If the original way of doing phenomenology is to be the method, then Manuel B. Dy, PhD above has faithfully explained to us in a terse but crystal clear way what Husserlian phenomenolgy is. St. John Paul II told though that consciousness is not itself intentional but just mirrors the intentional act of knowing.
I am for Thomistic Phenomenology as shown below.
I am not for Pure Phenomenology as shown below that somewhat diverted from the metaphysical terrain and created a misinterpretation of consciousness as similar to acts of knowing. The result is that it fully and truly brackets out reality, imprisoned in an inner world.
Awareness or consciousness is inside us. Whereas acts of knowing somewhat goes outside and captures being (object of metaphysics). But pure pheno somewhat tells that inside is the same as outside. Of course, outside is not inside. Awareness stays inside us, but it just mirrors the acts of knowing, which is really the one going outside. And pure pheno somehow makes the inside awareness becomes metaphysical.
But I am not against Phenomenology too as shown below.
In my experience of career failures, and then delving deeper into it using phenomenology, I can say at least something about its psychological effect. Pure phenomenology, that is, a phenomenology that doesn't respect Thomism, is bound to fail and can border on the delusional. But with the guidance of Thomism, expect a much clearer view from phenomenology, or newer avenues you can better explore.
In short, pheno reflection must not deny the metaphysical and further, the spiritual. We can always purely phenomenologize, yet have to be aware of its limits.
To say that it has no tendency to point to metaphysical and spiritual reality, is like denying yourself the experience and benefit of a phenomenological reflecting in full circle. Let us rather expound its supplemental capacity for metaphysics, which opens up the spiritual realm, or at least not deny or prevent it.

Bumubukal nga ang biyaya ng Diyos sa kaawa-awa nating sitwasyon, na sa tingin ng mundo ay kawalan na. Palpak ang mga plano mo sa buhay. We might not need to phenomenologize about our career failures. We might even benefit more from the existential experiences of Tesla, van Gogh, Lovecraft, Allan Poe, and Schubert to say to ourselves that lack of finances doesn't negate our work and life value. But we also don't need to overemphasize phenomenology by saying that other fields of endeavor like the objective scientific and problem-solving method won't give us insights, and that phenomenology is sufficient in itself.

At kung mapayapa ang ipinaparamdam sa iyo ng Dyos sa pagpili mo sa Accountancy, pero nalulungkot ka naman o di ka mapalagay kung iniisip mo kung mag IT ka, therefore tinutulungan ka ng Diyos na piliin ang Accountancy. Wala ngang tao ang nakaaalam sa hinaharap at kung anu ang makabubuti talaga para sa iyo. Pero alam ng Diyos na limitado ang ating kaisipan sa mga ganyang bagay kaya nya tayo tinutulungan.
Kung merong ganitong mga pamamaraan na itinuro ang mga santo, bakit di natin gamitin lalu na kung sa tingin mo ay di na kaya ng phenomenological reflections o kahit anung syensiya ang mga pinag-iisipan mo sa buhay. Sa huli katulad ni San Anselmo, sa paghingi nya ng tulong sa Dyos ay patuloy lamang siyang lalung nakapagpilosopiya. You are also a model maker you may not yet realize though. The model out there for the taking is 20-20-20 rule for avoiding gadget glares and its consequences that for every 20 minute use of gadget with glares, you stop for 20 seconds and look 20 feet away.
